strength
You might here people say after wrestling you will feel sore in muscles you didn't even know you had. Well it is true. In the sport of wrestling you will use all of your muscles. You name them, triceps, biceps, pectoral muscles, leg and calf muscles, and everything else. That is why you need to build strength in all of these muscles. If you have strength, power, and endurance, you will control your opponent with ease.
An essential strength needed is a good grip strength. A good grip strength will improve all types of wrestling and grappling. It will also help with keeping wrist control on your opponent. If you have good wrist control, your opponent is pretty much just a puppet and you are the controller. And that is why it is essential to have a strength in not just grip, but in all your muscles. Strength in all your muscles will make you almost unstoppable.
You might have the strength, but it won't be any good if you don't have any endurance in your muscles. Success in wrestling also requires endurance. But not just muscular endurance, you must also have cardiovascular endurance also. If you don't have endurance, your muscles will fatigue. When that happens, you will become slow and out of breath. But if you have cardiovascular and muscular endurance, you will become faster and stronger than your opponent in the later rounds of the match.
Mental strength is also good to have. If you tell yourself that you won't win or you should just give up, you will think that that will happen. But if you keep going and dig down and pull out that last bit of strength, you will out heart, out maneuver, and out do your opponent.
